Remembering Shawn

This site was created in memory of Shawn. Our loving son, partner, friend and artist.

Story

Born in Colorado Springs

May 21, 1997

Shawn had a love of music that started in his young years with influences of hip hop/rap coming from his father and rock/alternative coming from his mother.

Music was always at a forefront for Shawn and was the catalyst for many events in his life. From meeting his love, Bryana, in band class in high school to his drive to preform music with local groups, several duets with other artists or solo under the name Oathkeeper then later Blackhat. When Shawn had a mic in his hand on stage or in front of him in the studio he was at one of his happiest times. Shawn also enjoyed producing music for himself and other artists. Shawn was a huge supporter of local music and could often be found at local venues showing love to his friends and fellow artists. If there was a show to be seen, Shawn was there. If there was a pit to be opened, Shawn was there. If there were tickets to be hustled, Shawn was there.

Outside of music Shawn most enjoyed his time with Bryana, hanging out with friends, video games, skateboarding and just living life. Shawn had a great love of animals and growing flowers and other plants. Sometimes those plants caught fire and Shawn may have found some joy there too.

While Shawn faced struggles and battled to find his place in this world he did so in a way that never took away the energy he devoted to Bryana, his family or his friends. Shawn would always be there in a time of need for anyone and gave all he could to everyone he could.

While Shawn will be missed by many people and his time was sadly short, he touched so many lives and truely left his mark on this world. While there is a void left in his passing he will forever live on in his music, our memories and most importantly, our hearts.
